Remember back in the 70's? The songs about the war? Remember the songs about drugs? Remember in the 80's the crazy fucking songs about absolutley nothing!
Then came the 90's. Some music executives decide that they are going to start manufacturing music, so we are given the New Kids On The Block. Girls go crazy and it's the birth of pop music that we know today.
Fast forward to 2004, you turn on the radio and every fucking song on the radio is about girls. If it's not about girls, it's directed to girls or it's targeting the demographic.
* Mike puts on punk music and hears some whiney white guy talking about how he is a loser and can't get a girl
* Mike puts on R&B and hears a whiney black guy singing about how he would give his girl the world and his rims
* Mike puts on rock music and hears about some angry white guy who just broke up with his girl
* Mike puts on rap music and hears some bullshit about shaking your ass in the club and how you can get in the club for free to impress a girl
* Mike finally puts the nail in the coffin of music
I'm sick of this fucking bullshit. Too many artists believe that love or girls or relationships is all us humans can relate to.
Not to say Pac started anything, but he did have a good perception on it. "Rap for the bitches, if you rap for the bitches, the niggaz will come to, because the niggaz want what the bitches want"
Nobody is making music that says anything, or makes you think anymore. Jay-Z tries, but yet to sell records he has to make girly fucking songs. He even said "dumbed down my audience and doubled my dollars"
Pisses me off.
